STEM Night Out!

The Pascack Pi-oneers consistently look for new methods to spread the message of FIRST and STEAM. This year they created STEM Night Out, an event where they taught children to create their own solar night light by using important skills such as soldering, wiring a circuit board, the principles of solar power, basic astronomy, teamwork, and the importance of STEAM. Participants saw a robot demonstration and had an astrology presentation in a Star Lab. Proceeds from this event went to the Sakhikamva Foundation of South Africa. In addition, the Pi-oneers sent three Arduinos to the Foundation and due to this donation, they were able to begin a robotics club. There is a long range plan to visit South Africa to turn their club into a FIRST team.
